Traditionnellement, en Finlande, Mardi Gras ou «Laskiainen" (en finnois) est le jour où les enfants vont jouer  dehors avec leur pulka (semblable à un traîneau) en descente. "Aller glisser sur la pente" est ce qu'ils appellent "pulkkamäki".

Traditionally in Finland, Shrove Tuesday or “Laskiainen” (in Finnish) is the day kids go out to play with their pulk (pulkka, similar to a sled) downhill. Going to slide on the hill is what they call “pulkkamäki”.
